STEP-G provides solutions with significant added value. This approach is supported by high-quality alloys produced at our in-house foundry. As well as having many years of experience and “know-how”. VSO0152618Ahigh strength aluminium alloy which contains both copper and magnesium. Alloy 2618A has good machinability and is fair resistance to atmospheric attack.  2618A is typically used in aerospace and defence components,  engine pistons (racing cars), turbo fans  and rotating aircraft parts due to it's ability to work in higher temperature applications.

2219high strength alloy which combines good machinability and good mechanical properties. 2219 is useful over a temperature range of -200°F to 300°C, is readily weldable and has good fracture toughness. It is typically used in a range of aerospace applications such as rocket booster and fuel tanks

5086Very good weldability. Very good resistance to corrosion, especially in seawater and marine atmosphere.  Medium strength alloy with high fatigue strength used for welded pressure vessels, aircraft cryogenics, drlling rigs, ship building and missile components.

6082Widely used  heat-treatable alloy with  medium mechanical properties, but high resistance to corrosion and excellent weldability. 6082 is used in stressed strucural parts for transport, machine building, automotive body frames, hydraulic systems, screws, rivets etc.

6061Medium to high strength heat-treatable alloy. It has very good corrosion resistance and very good weldability although reduced strength in the weld zone. It has medium fatigue strength and used in a wide range of aerospace (heat exchangers)  and automotive (ABS braking manifold) applications. It has good cold formability in the temper T4, but limited formability in T6 temper. Not suitable for very complex cross sections.

VSO0127022Heat treatable very high strength alloy with very high fatigue strength. The mechanical values are slightly  lower then for 7075. Joining preferably by rivets, adhesives or screws.
Corrosion protection is recommended also in outdoor atmosphere.

VSO0137075/7175This alloy  offers the highest strength of the common screw machine alloys. The superior stress corrosion resistance of  overaged  tempers such as  T7351 makes alloy 7075 a logical replacement for 2024, 2014 and 2017 in many of the most critical applications. The T6 and T651 tempers have fair machinability. Alloy 7075 is heavily utilized by the aircraft and ordnance industries because of its superior strength.

7050is an aerospace grade of aluminium combining high strength, stress corrosion cracking resistance and toughness. 7050 is the premium choice aerospace aluminium for applications such as fuselage frames, bulkheads and wing skins.

VSO0117049A/7149A7049 has very high mechanical properties (tensile strength) and good machinability. Offers a high resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Typically used in aircraft structural parts.

VSO01470687068 alloy provides the highest mechanical strength of all aluminium alloys and matches that of certain steels. This outstanding alloy combines a yield strength of up to 700 MPa (up to over 30% higher than that of 7075 alloy) and good ductility with corrosion resistance similar to 7075 and other features beneficial to high performance component/equipment designers.
